The mystery of big cats reportedly roaming the British countryside has intrigued the public for decades, with sightings of creatures such as the Beast of Bodmin Moor and the Demon of Dartmoor captured in grainy CCTV footage and photographs. Recent years have seen a resurgence in such reports, prompting questions about the validity of these claims.
Matt Everett, the director of Panthera Britannia Declassified, has noted a “huge increase” in big cat sightings across Britain. His organization has been inundated with reports since the release of a documentary film in July, which purported to uncover groundbreaking cases related to these elusive creatures.
Everett stated, “After the film was released on Amazon and iTunes, we have been inundated with emails and messages from people wanting to report their own sightings. We have even had new videos and photos sent in, which really demonstrates the public interest in this subject.”
One recent video submission featured a man who wished to remain anonymous due to concerns about potential ridicule or harm to his career. According to the eyewitness, he encountered a leopard and two cubs crossing a road during his commute. This remarkable sighting occurred in broad daylight on an isolated and rural road. The witness managed to capture the event on video, providing a unique piece of evidence.
In another video released by the documentary team, a large dark animal was seen moving along the edge of a field in Norwich. This footage adds to the growing body of visual evidence regarding these mysterious creatures.
The documentary’s filmmakers have previously claimed to possess the “clearest” photo of a big cat prowling the British countryside, contributing to the ongoing debate about the presence of such animals in the region.
