Hong Kong police have recovered a stolen cat and arrested two people in connection with the theft from a shop in Sham Shui Po.
According to the police, the incident happened on Thursday at a store on Lai Chi Kok Road. Staff members reported the theft to authorities the next day, saying a man and woman had taken the cat.
Officers from the Sham Shui Po district reviewed CCTV footage and launched a detailed investigation. They arrested a 46-year-old woman, surnamed Lau, and a 43-year-old man, surnamed Cheng, on Friday. Both suspects are local residents and have been released on bail.
The cat, a tabby, was found and safely returned to the store staff. Police said the animal had been kept at the shop for three years.
