A 19-year-old cat recently proved just how deeply pets can miss their owners. In a heartwarming video, the cat’s mom returns home after a weekend away, and the feline immediately bursts into vocalizations that seem to say, “Where have you been?”
Though the cat’s dad and teenage sibling had been taking care of her while her mom was away, it was clear that something was missing. The cat seemed to be waiting for her mom’s return, possibly even lying on her mom’s side of the bed in anticipation.
As soon as the mom enters the room, the cat springs into action, meowing loudly, almost as if to express relief and joy at the reunion. The cat eagerly accepts her mom’s scratches and pets, but when the attention stops, she meows again, perhaps signaling, “Hey, why did you stop?”
Commenters on the video jokingly speculated that the cat’s true message was, “Next time, take me with you!” It’s a delightful reminder of the emotional bond shared between pets and their owners.
