A Jackson-based animal rescue shelter recently responded to a call about a cat in distress, found with its head stuck inside a can.
“We were contacted about this poor soul. This cat was rummaging through the trash for food when it got its head stuck in a cat food can,” the Animal Rescue Fund of Mississippi (ARF) shared in a social media post.
Rescuers believe the cat had been trapped for several days.
“It was very weak and dehydrated, but we were able to catch it and safely remove the can,” ARF reported.
The cat is now under the shelter’s care and recovering from the incident.
