Grant County Animal Outreach (GCAO) is seeking help following the rescue of dozens of cats from a hoarding situation. The animals were found in appalling, unsanitary conditions, suffering from various health issues such as fleas, ringworm, and upper respiratory infections.
The GCAO rescue team took immediate action to address these issues, providing emergency treatments, including sulfur-lime dip baths to combat fleas and help prevent the spread of ringworm.
“Our top priority is to ensure the health and well-being of these cats,” said a GCAO spokesperson. “Despite the difficult circumstances, our team is committed to giving them the necessary care to help them recover.”
Along with treatments at the rescue site, the organization has arranged veterinary visits to address the cats’ extensive medical needs. The recovery process is expected to be long and costly, leading GCAO to appeal to the community for financial assistance.
To help cover the veterinary expenses, GCAO has launched a fundraising campaign. “Every contribution counts, and even small donations can make a big difference,” the spokesperson emphasized. Donations can be made through GCAO’s dedicated link, and supporters who require tax receipts are encouraged to contact the organization directly.
GCAO will provide ongoing updates on the cats’ recovery, with community support being vital in ensuring they receive the care they need to live healthier and happier lives.
