The Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) is working to improve the lives of rescued cats by creating a dedicated website to promote their adoption.
Azmi Muji, director of MBDK’s Health Department, revealed that the proposed website, aimed at increasing the adoption rates of cats in their shelter, is still under discussion.
“Our shelter receives many stray cats, and we hope the website will provide them with a better chance of being adopted,” Azmi said.
The website will feature photos and profiles of the cats available for adoption, along with useful tips on how to care for them and help them adjust to their new homes.
Azmi emphasized that adopting a cat is a serious responsibility, which includes taking care of the pet’s health, safety, and well-being.
MBDK’s cat shelter is located at Taman Kucing Klang in Bukit Raja, where they aim to showcase the cats in the best light possible. “We want to ensure that the cats look their best in the photos, and that potential adopters see them at their best when they visit the shelter,” he added.
In a separate initiative, Azmi announced that MBDK will resume its regular vaccination program for dogs at a subsidized price and offer dog license renewals next month.
The program will take place on April 19 at Padang Taman Klang Utama, Persiaran Sungai Keramat, and on April 26 at Padang Taman Selatan, Jalan Palas. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The vaccination will be available for RM55 per dog, while the dog license will be RM10 per dog.
