A Minnesota family’s cat condo has taken the internet by storm, as a viral livestream featuring its adorable feline residents continues to captivate viewers.
The Mohn family from Frazee, Minnesota, shared with KVLY in Fargo, North Dakota, how their project began when they started feeding a hungry stray cat.
“She was basically starving, so I gave her a can of cat food, and she inhaled it. Then, over the edge of the creek, we spotted three little round heads with six curious eyes peeking up at us,” said Kevin Mohn, who built the cat condo.
Seeing the mother cat and her kittens in need, Mohn converted an old dog house into a cozy cat condo. The kittens—Lila, Lucy, and Larry—quickly settled in.
The family’s feline-friendly initiative gained widespread attention after one of Mohn’s daughters shared a photo of the condo on Facebook in November. Within weeks, the post had attracted over half a million views.
Their online fame only grew when another daughter set up a 24-hour livestream of the kittens, drawing even more fans.
Supporters have since sent donations, including toys and funds, to help cover food and medical expenses for the cats.
For those concerned about the cold Minnesota weather, there’s no need to worry—Mohn equipped the condo with ceramic heat lamps to keep the kittens warm and comfortable.
The livestream has become a source of joy for viewers worldwide, particularly for those in need of a little extra cheer. Mohn shared that cancer patients and nursing home residents have reached out to express their appreciation for the heartwarming project.
