Two cats were left at an animal shelter by their owner, accompanied by a touching note asking for help. The note, shared by Care for Animal Rescue and Enrichment of St. Louis (CARE STL), expressed the owner’s heartfelt plea for their beloved pets to be taken care of.
In a Facebook post, CARE STL shared photos of the cats alongside the emotional note, which read: “Please take care of my cats. Love them both. Tabby is unsocialized. Thank you.”
“We are grateful that you trusted us with your precious pets during this difficult time,” CARE STL wrote in the post, thanking the owner for entrusting the shelter with the cats.
Weng Horak, founder and CEO of CARE STL, expressed the heartbreak of witnessing situations like this, where people are forced to surrender their pets due to housing issues. Horak noted that such circumstances often lead to a painful break in the bond between humans and their animals.
While the cats are awaiting a new family, they are being showered with love and care at CARE STL. The shelter ended their post with a message of support to the owner, saying, “Take care of yourself, and know that we’re here for you if you want to visit them.”
