A pet parent was left in disbelief after receiving frantic calls and a photo from the cleaning lady about her cat‘s unexpected adventure. TikTok user @amiieeee shared the amusing story in a video, explaining that her cleaning lady had called her three times, worried that she had accidentally let the cat outside during one of the coldest weeks of the year. After the calls, the cleaning lady sent a photo of the cat, who surprisingly hadn’t gone far.
The photo showed the orange cat lounging on a chair outside, looking annoyed as if his peaceful sunbathing had been disturbed. His glare at the cleaning lady suggested he was thoroughly unimpressed, and despite her attempts to coax him back inside with a treat bag, the cat remained unbothered, seemingly enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
In the video’s caption, the owner wrote, “I didn’t blame him. He was living the life, finally getting a taste of the outdoors.” The video quickly went viral, garnering over 342,100 views and 83,600 likes by Monday.
Viewers couldn’t help but laugh at the cat’s defiant attitude, with one comment reading, “He really said, ‘You’re not my mom, you can’t tell me what to do.'” Another joked, “He looks annoyed that his sunbathing was interrupted.”
Many viewers also praised the cleaning lady for her persistence in trying to get the cat back inside, with one commenting, “The fact she got the treat bag out and shook it. 10/10 cleaner.”
While the incident provided plenty of laughter, it also highlighted a common struggle for pet owners: getting an indoor cat to return once they’ve discovered the outdoors. According to WikiHow, one solution could be training the cat to come when called. Since cats have shorter attention spans than dogs, owners may need to use food as motivation, such as shaking a bag of treats to get their cat’s attention. However, patience is key, as a cat may not always respond immediately.
The lesson? While a cat’s refusal to come inside can be frustrating, it’s often just part of their independent nature.
