When Ravi, an 8-year-old cat, was surrendered to a Connecticut vet practice, the reason given by his family was surprising: He was “too affectionate.”
The family had not kept Ravi for long before deciding he wasn’t the right fit for them. His new friends at the vet were heartbroken for him, so they reached out to a rescue organization, The Little Guild, which quickly agreed to take him in. As the staff got to know Ravi, they understood what his previous family meant by his affection but could hardly fathom why anyone would give him up.
“He has such a sweet and silly personality,” Jennifer Langendoerfer, executive director of The Little Guild, told The Dodo. “He loves to cuddle with the staff members and hang out with the other shelter cats. His favorite thing is to snuggle up in your lap and take a nap.”
Ravi may be clingy, but it’s the kind of affection that’s pure and lovable. He just wants to be showered with love, which is exactly what he deserves.
Having spent about a month at The Little Guild, Ravi has adjusted well to shelter life and is now eagerly awaiting his forever home. Finding one for him, however, isn’t going to be a challenge.
“We’ve received over 100 applications for Ravi,” Langendoerfer shared. “Our small staff is working through them to find the best match for our sweet Ravi.”
With his affectionate nature, Ravi has very few demands for his future home. His main requirement? To be showered with cuddles and love for the rest of his life.
“Ravi would be great for just about any home,” Langendoerfer added. “His ideal owner will love to cuddle and won’t mind having a shadow following them around, seeking attention.”
