Lubbock Animal Services has a unique solution to pest problems, offering skilled feline hunters for free rodent control. The shelter currently has 27 feral cats available for placement in barns, warehouses, farms, and other spaces where rodent issues are prevalent.
These independent cats are not suited for indoor living but are trained to handle pests naturally, providing an effective, chemical-free alternative to costly extermination services. “We try to place them in areas with significant rodent problems, such as ranches, farms, warehouses, barns, and even wineries,” explained LAS Assistant Director Taylor Ruggles.
All the cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. Adoption fees are waived for those who choose to give these cats a job.
