Over 30 cats, rescued from the devastating wildfires in Southern California, found temporary homes with volunteers in Merced on Saturday.
The Merced SPCA partnered with LA County Animal Services to assist shelters that were overwhelmed with animals saved from the fires.
On Saturday, volunteers in Merced came together to foster the rescued cats, taking home essential supplies donated by the community to help care for them. The Merced SPCA confirmed that volunteers will look after the cats for six weeks, giving their owners time to locate their beloved pets. After this period, the cats will be made available for adoption.
The Merced SPCA is still seeking additional foster homes and accepting donations of wet food, towels, bandages, and saline solutions to support the rescued cats. Anyone interested in volunteering, donating, or learning more can visit the Merced SPCA website.
