At Purradise Springs, a tranquil retreat, all was calm until a disruptive noise interrupted the peaceful slumber of the glampers. The culprit? A can of food being opened.
Several curious cats, always on the lookout for a meal, quickly responded. They jumped off beds and furniture in Purrt No. 3, eager to investigate. But upon finding black beans instead of their preferred fish, they swiftly lost interest and returned to their naps.
As the saying goes in hospitality: “You’re in their home, so be a good guest.” At Purradise Springs, that means respecting the roughly 130 rescue cats who call this sanctuary home. Many of the cats spend their time lounging in luxury tents known as Purrts, complete with soft beds and cozy couches. When not in their dens, the cats roam the property, blending seamlessly into the landscape like wild lions. With eyes that gleam in the dark, they often notice you before you spot them.
“The main priority is the cats,” said Thom Howard, 51, who, along with his wife Denise, 51, runs the sanctuary. “We want to make sure they’re well-cared for and loved.”
“After that, it’s about making sure the guests have a good experience,” he added.
