A 36-year-old man shot and killed two dogs he claimed were attacking his cat in his front yard, according to a San Antonio police report.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday outside a residence on the 9200 block of Adams Hill. The man told police that he initially fired a warning shot to scare off the dogs, but they turned their aggression toward him instead.
In response, he shot the dogs, killing them on the spot. Unfortunately, the cat succumbed to the injuries sustained during the dogs’ initial attack.
Animal Care Services arrived at the scene and informed the dogs’ owner about the incident, the report said.
As of Thursday, no charges had been filed, but the case remains under investigation, according to authorities.
