TikTok viewers have been moved by the story of London, an 8-month-old cat left behind at a bus station after her owner boarded a long-distance bus without her.
According to an October 8 TikTok video detailing the incident, the cat’s owner was unable to bring London aboard the bus, as no ticket had been purchased for her. Instead of making alternative arrangements, the owner reportedly boarded the bus and departed, leaving London stranded at the station.
An employee at the bus station noticed the abandoned feline and brought her to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) center serving Halifax, Huddersfield, and Bradford. The RSPCA is now working to find London a loving new home, ensuring she will never face abandonment again.
Despite her ordeal, London has adapted quickly to her new surroundings. The RSPCA describes her as confident, friendly, and chatty, entertaining staff and lifting spirits at the shelter.
While little is known about London’s previous home life, the RSPCA staff believes she would thrive in a home with children aged 12 and older, a neutered feline companion, or a calm older dog. Her future adopters will also need to provide her with access to the outdoors in a safe environment, away from busy roads or railway lines.
The story has touched the hearts of TikTok users, who flooded the comment section with messages of support for London.
“I didn’t know you’d need a ticket for a cat on a bus, but regardless, that is an insane thing to do! I hope she finds a wonderful new home soon,” one user commented.
Another wrote: “Awww my heart. How could anyone leave her behind? She looks so bewildered but comfortable. Hope she gets a nicer forever owner.”
A third added: “Can’t believe anyone would do this! She’s so beautiful and deserves to be treated like a little furry queen.”
The RSPCA remains hopeful that London will soon find a forever family ready to give her the love and care she deserves.
