Petra Fareas and her husband, owners of Death Ray Tattoo in Manteca, are once again partnering with the local non-profit Orphan Kitten Rescue (OKR) for their upcoming event, “Needles & Claws Cattoo Purrlooza,” set for Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The event will take place at their tattoo parlor, located at 181 S. Union Road, Suite 105.
According to Petra, this unique event will feature her team of artists creating cat-themed tattoos, with a portion of the proceeds going towards OKR’s veterinary bills and daily expenses.
OKR, which is led by Jessica Zamora, is dedicated to rescuing injured and sick kittens. “Jessica is a mom on a mission to handle special cases of kittens in need, and she works tirelessly to help reduce the stray population,” Petra shared in her press release.
Currently, Orphan Kitten Rescue is caring for 40 kittens, including six that require infected tooth extractions. The mounting vet bills have added extra pressure on the organization’s resources.
During “Needles & Claws Cattoo Purrlooza,” while the artists are tattooing, Jessica will have adoptable kittens available for visitors to meet in the front of the shop. Last year, the event successfully facilitated the adoption of four kittens and raised over $1,000 in donations and supplies for OKR.
This year, Petra is hopeful they will exceed their previous achievements and continue supporting the vital work of Orphan Kitten Rescue.
