Fresh cat food company KatKin has bolstered its nutrition team with four new appointments, enhancing its scientific expertise and pushing forward its commitment to improving cat nutrition. The new hires include Research and Development Director Ryan Honaker, Senior Scientist Jirayu (Boo Boo) Tanprasertsuk, Scientist Devon Tate, and Technical Product Manager LeeAnn Perry, all of whom join the company from US-based pet food brand Nom Nom.
These experts will leverage their published research to improve the digestibility of KatKin’s products, conducting tests across chemistry, processing, and formulation to develop the world’s largest dataset and knowledge base on the palatability of fresh cat food.
Ryan Honaker, speaking about his new role, expressed excitement about joining KatKin at a time of significant growth. “We’re thrilled to be joining KatKin at such an exciting moment, doubling down on the business’s commitment to science and cat nutrition,” he said. “In a world where many veterinarians are calling for more comprehensive education on cat nutrition, and cat parents are eager to learn how to make their pets healthier, KatKin’s focus on science has one goal: to provide cats with the healthy, fresh food they were born to eat.”
Honaker emphasized KatKin’s potential to revolutionize the way cats are fed, stating, “With in-house vets and nutrition experts, our cat-first team is uniquely positioned to create the UK’s healthiest cat food. This means healthier, happier cats—first across the UK, and eventually worldwide.”
Brett O’Farrell, co-CEO of KatKin, welcomed the new team members, stating, “We’re excited to have Ryan and his team join KatKin, as we all share the passion for making cat nutrition research and resources more accessible to both consumers and vets. Our mission is to improve cats’ lives with the best fresh nutrition and to make it convenient and accessible to all cat owners.”
