A cat that had been trapped for days in a tight space between two walls at Larnaca airport was successfully rescued by the fire service, according to the Green party’s action group coordinator on Wednesday.
Despite initial efforts by the airport’s managing company, Hermes, and the airport’s fire service, the cat remained stuck for several days due to the challenging location it was wedged in.
However, after a coordinated effort on Tuesday, authorities were able to free the cat. Video footage captured the young black-and-white long-haired cat perched high above a security camera in a narrow gap filled with pipes, with only the eerie glow of its eyes visible.
Following the successful rescue, the Greens expressed their gratitude to the airport officials and management for their involvement in the operation.
“The sensitivity shown in saving an animal reflects the respect we should always show to animals,” said the Green party member.
