STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) — An injured cat found on a local highway has been given a second chance at life after being rescued by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
On August 21, a concerned driver alerted an Ohio dispatcher, reporting, “It looks like there’s a cat that’s alive.” In response, Trooper Justin Smith from the Canton post was dispatched to locate the injured feline on I-77.
In a heartwarming turn of events, Smith successfully spotted the grey and white cat, who had managed to stay off the busy roadway. Following her rescue, the cat was temporarily cared for by the Stark County Humane Society.
Recently, a man visited the shelter and chose to adopt the cat, now named Lola, providing her with a loving “fur-ever home,” according to a post by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on X.
The circumstances that led to Lola’s presence on the highway remain unclear, but her story now has a happy ending.
