COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A young kitten named “Turbo Rinse” narrowly escaped a harrowing experience at an Ohio car wash, using one of his nine lives in a dramatic rescue that has captured the hearts of many.
On August 19, at the Ultimate Shine Car Wash in Washington Court House, a car wash attendant discovered the kitten near the turbo blaster section of the tunnel. The tiny feline, drenched and trembling, had been flushed from its hiding spot under a vehicle by the powerful jets of water.
The kitten, now known as Turbo Rinse, was immediately noticed by Kierra Mills, the team lead at the car wash.
“I heard a kitten meowing and followed the sound until I found him,” Mills recounted. “He looked terrified, soaking wet, and shaking, so I brought him inside our main office and began drying him off as quickly as I could.”
After being dried off, Turbo Rinse was taken to the Fayette Regional Humane Society (FRHS) for a thorough check-up. Remarkably, despite the terrifying ordeal, the kitten was found to be in good health and is now resting comfortably under the care of the FRHS.
“This could have ended very differently if not for the attentiveness of the car wash staff,” noted Brad Adams, FRHS Chief Humane Agent. “It’s a reminder to always check under your vehicle, especially if you have cats or kittens on your property.”
Turbo Rinse will soon be available for adoption after receiving all necessary treatments and vaccinations. The story serves as a heartwarming reminder of the unexpected dangers animals can face and the importance of vigilance in their protection.
