The Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) in Tucson, Arizona, is appealing for immediate assistance from the community after rescuing 20 sick cats from a single home on Tuesday. These cats are displaying symptoms typical of animals living in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions.
Director Monica Dangler emphasized the strain such large impounds place on shelter resources, particularly space and care time. Currently, PACC is already near capacity in both dog and cat kennels, with 702 animals housed in the shelter and another 1,265 in foster care.
To alleviate this strain and make room for the newly rescued cats, PACC urgently needs fosters and adopters. Pets adopted from PACC are microchipped, spayed or neutered, and receive age-appropriate vaccinations.
Anyone interested in adopting or fostering a pet can visit PACC’s location at 4000 N. Silverbell Road or find more information on their website.
This call for help underscores the critical role community support plays in providing temporary and permanent homes for animals in need at PACC.
