On May 31, authorities in Wagoner County, Oklahoma, responded to a distressing call concerning animal cruelty. The incident involved Jacob Lederman, accused of intentionally harming Maverick, a domestic short hair house cat, at a Wagoner County residence.
Upon arrival, Wagoner County’s Criminal Investigations Division commenced an inquiry into the matter. They conducted multiple interviews and secured veterinary medical records that corroborated the allegations. Subsequently, an arrest warrant was issued for Lederman.
July 10 marked “National Kitten Day,” and it was on this day that Wagoner County deputies, in conjunction with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, located Lederman in the Claremore area. Lederman was promptly apprehended by a Wagoner County Investigator and Deputy Phipps without any issues.
Following his arrest, Lederman was transported to the Wagoner County Detention Center and booked on a $2,500 bond. He was released on the same day of his booking.
