Moore, Oklahoma – Body-cam footage released by the Moore Police Department (MPD) revealed a disturbing incident of animal cruelty on June 26, resulting in the arrest of Veronica Carrillo. The MPD responded to a call from a teenager reporting that her mother was attempting to burn a cat.
According to the teenager, she heard the cat meowing outside and discovered it trapped inside a pet carrier placed atop a burning grill, wrapped in a trash bag. Acting swiftly, she removed the carrier from the grill and freed the cat. Despite sustaining visible burn marks and singed whiskers, the cat fortunately did not suffer serious injuries.
Upon arrival, MPD found Carrillo lying on the front porch, covered in a porch rug. She was subsequently identified and arrested on charges of animal cruelty. As of the latest update, the cat remains under the care of the family pending further investigation.
The incident has sparked outrage and concern among local residents, highlighting the importance of vigilance and swift action in cases of animal abuse.
