Madison Cat Project in Wisconsin is making a significant impact by rescuing cats that face euthanasia due to behavioral or medical issues. Partnering closely with local shelters, the organization provides a lifeline to hundreds of cats each year.
Executive Director Charmaine Friar emphasized the organization’s mission to collaborate with various individuals and shelters to save cats in need. Many of these cats, initially deemed unfit for adoption due to shyness or specific behavioral needs, find new leases on life through the project.
“We love hearing about the transformations of cats that struggled in traditional shelter settings,” said Friar. “These are cats that were shy, fearful, or thought to require outdoor environments.”
Madison Cat Project ensures that all rescued cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and receive deworming treatments before they are available for adoption. The organization’s dedication to providing comprehensive care underscores its commitment to giving every cat a chance to thrive in a loving home.
