LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police in Lancaster are investigating an incident where a cat was shot in the shoulder in late June.
According to a press release, a complainant alerted troopers to a stray cat seen limping around the 100 block of Safe Harbor Village in Conestoga Township for a week.
The complainant captured the cat and took it to a local veterinary clinic for evaluation. The clinic determined that the cat had been shot in the shoulder, causing it to shatter and leading to the limping.
As a result, the cat is now facing amputation. State police are currently investigating whether the shooting was intentional or if the stray cat wandered onto a nearby gun range and was accidentally struck.
