Social media users have been left in stitches by a greedy cat who couldn’t resist helping himself to the fresh groceries his owner had evidently left out just for him.
After returning home from the store, cat owner Olesya Krishchuk assumed the groceries would be perfectly safe in the kitchen while she put her daughter down for a nap. That, however, wasn’t the case. She said that she came back to find her cat, Blue, “eating a steak on the floor.” The mischievous cat saw his opportunity and took it, rummaging through the unattended grocery bags and bypassing the tins of cat food and fresh vegetables for the enormous cut of raw meat.
“I just came home from a shopping trip and left the groceries on the floor because I needed to put my daughter down for her nap,” Krishchuk said. “When I came back, I found my cat had gone through the bag, chewed through the plastic wrap on the steaks, and pulled one out.” Krishchuk was in sheer disbelief at her cat’s antics, especially as she wasn’t even out of the room for long. Upon seeing “the worst thing” that Blue could have done in that moment, Krishchuk took to TikTok to share her frustration.
The video showed the moment Krishchuk wandered back into the room to find Blue tucking into his feast. The clip has left everyone in hysterics—apart from Krishchuk, of course. In just a matter of days, it generated more than 385,400 views and over 31,800 likes on TikTok.
Thankfully, she was able to see the funny side and eventually managed to get the chunk of steak out of Blue’s paws. Needless to say, she really didn’t fancy eating it for dinner after that. “We put it aside for him and fed it to him over the next few days. We typically give him any of the meat or seafood we’re eating anyway, so he just got a head start,” she said. After Blue’s greedy behavior went viral on TikTok, Krishchuk heard from many fellow cat owners who shared similar experiences. To her amazement, some even said they would still have eaten the steak despite Blue giving it a taste beforehand.
While the steak wasn’t intended for Blue, he certainly seemed to enjoy it, and social media users couldn’t be happier for him. The viral video amassed over 630 comments in just a matter of days, with many people lauding him for being so audacious and brazen. One TikTok user wrote: “The best damn day of its life.”
Another person responded: “I feel like that’s fair game. You left meat out … little dude is just living their best life.”
And another person joked: “He thanks you for hunting for him.”
