An inquest has commenced at West London Coroners Court following the death of the Marquess of Ailsbury, who suffered fatal polytrauma after falling from his bedroom window. The incident occurred at his residence in London on May 12, where he struck his head on the patio below.
The 98-year-old nobleman, who had relocated from Savernake Forest to their London home of 14 years, was discovered by his partner, 88-year-old Teresa Marshall De Paoli, a former fashion model, who was preparing supper at the time of the tragedy.
A spokesperson from the court confirmed that the cause of death was attributed to polytrauma. The inquest has been adjourned until November for a comprehensive two-day hearing.
Authorities have ruled out foul play, emphasizing that the incident appears to have been a tragic accident. Teresa Marshall De Paoli, grieving the loss of her partner of 37 years, described the event as a “freak accident,” dispelling any notions of altercation. She explained, “I think the cat called Honeybun got her head stuck and he pushed the window up and lost his balance and he fell onto the patio.”
Emergency services responded swiftly, with police and ambulance personnel arriving at the scene within seven minutes of the incident.
