PELHAM, Ala. — A video circulating on social media showing an unidentified woman taking a cat from the front of a house in Pelham has gone viral, prompting concern and outrage.
The video, posted by Tammy Cottone Kusiak on the Facebook group “What’s Happening in Pelham” on Tuesday, captures a woman approaching the front of a house where a white cat was sitting. She picks up the cat and walks to a Jeep Cherokee, which then drives away. According to Kusiak’s post, the family was on vacation and received an alert from their Ring camera about the woman’s presence at their house.
“Around 7:30 last night this lady came up to our door and took our cat. You can see someone in the jeep waiting for her, and once she got my cat, they took off,” Kusiak wrote on Facebook.
The cat, named Snowball, is an indoor cat. Kusiak and her family are now appealing to the community for help in locating Snowball.
Anyone with information about Snowball’s whereabouts is urged to contact Tammy Cottone Kusiak via the Facebook group or call the Pelham Police Department at 205-620-6550.
