FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Approximately 100 cats and kittens were discovered in distressing conditions in a Franklin County cat hoarding case on July 1, as reported by The Justice Rescue animal shelter.
The Justice Rescue revealed on Facebook that these 100 cats were under the care of a man who tragically died in an accident. None of the cats had received veterinary care, and many were not spayed or neutered. Numerous cats were found suffering from eye infections and skin infections caused by fleas.
Only seven cats have been captured by the rescue team for immediate veterinary care, while the remaining cats await treatment. The rescue organization is seeking public support through donations to provide medical treatment, supplies, and resources for these cats and kittens.
The response from the community has been heartwarming, with the shelter raising over $2,000 so far. Dozens of commenters and donors have shared their support for the rescue efforts and the affected cats on social media.
