Are you looking for a cat or kitten to join your family? Stray Cat Rescue has numerous beautiful felines eagerly waiting for loving homes.
Founded in December 2002, Stray Cat Rescue aims to rehome and care for lost, stray, and abandoned cats. Based in South Bedfordshire, the organization covers Milton Keynes, Luton, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, and surrounding areas. Their policy ensures that no cat in their care is put to sleep, except with veterinary advice in extreme cases of illness or injury.
Anyone interested in offering a new home to a cat, sponsoring, or adopting a cat is invited to visit the center and meet the cats. Currently, the center offers a variety of cats of different ages, colors, sizes, shapes, and personalities. Some of the cats looking for homes include:
Snuggles: Sweet-natured and needs a quiet home.
Summer: A bit nervous but very friendly, would love to be a family cat with older children.
Tommy: A lovely boy who needs to be an indoor cat as he has FIV.
Logan: A neutered male who is also very friendly.
Stray Cat Rescue was originally formed by individuals who had been involved in other animal charity work and shared a like-minded interest in cat welfare. Many of them have a wealth of experience dealing with a wide variety of animals. All members are volunteers, and the group relies on fundraising and donations to continue their work.
A spokesperson for Stray Cat Rescue said, “Our activities often require the services of local veterinary practices, and their support is invaluable in caring for cats with sometimes complex medical problems. Over the years, our members have built up a close working relationship with the vets, and we hope to retain this working relationship as the group grows.”
The group’s patron is Simon Tofield, the award-winning author of “Simon’s Cat”. Simon has six cats, of which Teddy, Maisy, Badger, Willow, and Boo come from Stray Cat Rescue.
