In a heartwarming turn of events, WTHR 13News photographer Alex Almanza became part of the story when he rescued a kitten from a car engine. Almanza, who was returning from a shoot in Indianapolis late on Saturday night, heard persistent meowing coming from the station parking lot. Upon investigation, he discovered a small female cat stuck in the engine bay of one of the station’s cars.
Almanza quickly called for assistance from colleagues inside the station. Together, they managed to free the frightened kitten, who was covered in grease and dirt. The team cleaned her up and ensured she was comfortable.
As discussions ensued about the kitten’s future, Almanza stepped up and offered to adopt her. Now, the rescued kitten is enjoying a safe and loving home with plenty of playtime and food, thanks to Almanza’s quick actions and kind heart.
