A cat draped over a tree limb high in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, was rescued by firefighters and first responders on Friday, June 21. A photo shared by park rangers on Facebook shows the exasperated feline, while another image captures a firefighter climbing a ladder to retrieve the stranded pet.
The rescue took place around 1 p.m. near Mather Campground on the South Rim. According to the post, the cat was safely reunited with its family later that day.
The Facebook post received numerous comments, with one person noting, “Well, we have ALL been in places we wish we had not gone!” Another commenter quipped, “That first picture is the epitome of ‘Man, I didn’t think this through.’” A third person added, “Reminds me of so many cartoons.”
The park rangers extended a “huge shoutout” to the firefighters and first responders for their swift action in rescuing the “furry adventurer.”
