Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare in Texas is urgently seeking adopters for barn cats. Kali Dennis, interim rescue manager, highlighted the shelter’s regular intake of feral cats and the ongoing need for adopters.
According to Dennis, barn cats are ideal for individuals with land requiring pest control or those seeking outdoor companionship.
“It’s crucial to rehome these barn cats,” Dennis emphasized. “It gives them a second chance at a happy outdoor life while providing eco-friendly pest control for the community. Adopting more than one helps them settle better and stay longer.”
Barn cats are available with no adoption fee, already spayed/neutered, and vaccinated at no cost. Interested adopters can visit Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare in person or email [email protected] to join the barn cat adopters list for updates on availability.
“You’ll need to bring your ID and a trap or carrier to transport them,” Dennis explained. “We’ll schedule their surgery and vaccinations, and then you can take them home.”
The shelter provides adopters with informational flyers and startup kits detailing how to ensure the safety and well-being of barn cats in their new environment.
“With kitten season approaching, we’ll have plenty of cats needing homes,” Dennis added. “Our adoption team is ready to assist, whether you’re interested in friendlier barn cats or those needing more time to adjust.”
Prospective adopters are encouraged to visit soon and provide these deserving barn cats with a new chance at life outdoors.
