Moonah, Tasmania: Cat lovers in southern Tasmania are in for a treat this weekend as Southern Tas Cat Rescue Inc (STCR) and Birchgrove Feline Assistance Inc (BFA) come together to host a major adoption event at the Moonah Community Centre on Saturday, June 22.
A variety of cats, spanning different ages, personalities, and colors, will be available for adoption. All cats featured are socialized, desexed, microchipped, parasite treated, and vaccinated.
Named “Project Purrfect,” the event promises a wide selection of cats and kittens seeking loving homes, alongside merchandise and craft items for sale. Proceeds from the sales will support ongoing efforts in rescuing and rehoming cats by both organizations.
STCR, established in 2016 and based in the Huon Valley and Kingborough, focuses on rescuing cats. BFA, founded in Dodges Ferry in 2021, was created to assist in rehoming stray and surrendered cats. Both organizations rely on the support of volunteers and public donations.
The adoption event will be held at 7 Gormanston Road, Moonah, from 10 am to 4 pm, offering a chance for cat enthusiasts to find their perfect feline companion while supporting a worthy cause.
