A cat under the care of a homeless man in North Charleston is now on the road to recovery after receiving complimentary treatment from a Mount Pleasant animal rescue.
Initially reported by News 4, the cat named Bugs suffered injuries from a catfight. James Malcom, who regularly visited Bugs, initiated a fundraising effort to cover the costs of treating the cat’s significant stomach wound.
Meowdog Animal Rescue stepped forward to provide free treatment for Bugs. A volunteer transported the feline to the clinic, where veterinarians addressed the stomach wound and an abscess on its face. Additionally, Bugs was neutered during the procedure.
Following treatment, Bugs was returned to North Charleston, much to the relief of Malcom. “I can’t wait to see him healthy and whole again,” expressed Malcom, eager for Bugs’ recovery.
