A resilient Texas kitty named Porridge has proven himself to be quite the survivor. As he recovers from serious injuries, this charming cat is looking for a loving home to live out the rest of his days as the star he is.
“Porridge is around four years old and loves to be the center of attention,” said Madison Ohler, founder of Wonky Whiskers Rescue in Texas, in an interview with Fox News Digital.
Wonky Whiskers Rescue, a central Texas-based nonprofit, specializes in rescuing cats with serious injuries, disabilities, and illnesses. Porridge came to the rescue after being hit by a car, Ohler explained. As a result, he had to have one leg removed, is blind in one eye, and had a wire inserted in his jaw to aid his recovery.
“He has the cutest little lopsided snaggletooth grin, and his tongue often hangs out,” Ohler said, highlighting his endearing quirks.
Despite the severity of his injuries, Porridge has shown remarkable resilience. “Porridge loves to climb and is full of amusing antics,” Ohler said. “He’s frequently found lounging on high shelves, staring down at you, waiting for pets.” Even with only three legs, Porridge is an adept climber. “He likes to sneak into the closet and make his way up to the very highest shelf,” she added.
Porridge is described as “quirky” and has a bit of an attitude with other animals. He prefers the company of younger, submissive cats but doesn’t mind laid-back cats that respect his space and coexist politely with him. With humans, however, Porridge is affectionate and demanding of attention and snuggles. “He prefers not to share his human with too many other animals. He’s the star of the show, obviously,” Ohler said.
Porridge will be available for adoption in about two weeks, once his jaw is healed and the wire is removed. This brave little survivor is ready to find a forever home where he can be the center of attention and receive the love and care he deserves.
