ORANGEVALE, Calif. — A family of seven safely evacuated their home during a house fire on Saturday evening in Orangevale, confirmed local fire officials.
The blaze was reported at approximately 5:15 p.m. in a residential property located on the 8100 block of Ruthwood Way. Firefighters, arriving promptly at the scene, discovered the fire had engulfed a second-floor bedroom but were able to quickly extinguish the flames.
Thanks to the timely alert from working smoke alarms, all members of the household were able to escape without harm. Firefighting teams were also able to rescue and resuscitate the family’s cat, who was caught in the incident.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. As of now, no injuries have been reported in connection with the event.
