Authorities Pursue Suspects Involved in Unusual Incident
East Haven police are on the lookout for two individuals following a peculiar home invasion incident that occurred on Sunday afternoon. The incident, which involved an attempt to steal a cat, took place at a residence on Thompson Street around 3:45 p.m. Following a 911 call reporting the home invasion, officers swiftly responded to the scene.
According to reports from law enforcement, two male suspects attempted to gain entry to the residence through a rear slider door. Despite efforts to resist, one of the suspects resorted to breaking through the glass. Once inside, the suspects brandished a firearm and demanded the resident’s “high dollar value” cat.
Despite a thorough search of the premises lasting several minutes, the suspects were unable to locate the cat. Subsequently, a confrontation ensued between one of the residents and the intruders, leading to the suspects fleeing the scene in a blue BMW. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the altercation.
Following the incident, detectives were able to trace the BMW to Hamden, where the vehicle was seized and subjected to forensic examination. Preliminary investigations have suggested that the home invasion was a targeted attack involving individuals known to each other. Police are actively pursuing leads and continuing their inquiries into the matter.
