In a heartening display of community spirit, Asheville Cat Weirdos (ACW) recently concluded a highly successful cat food donation drive, amassing an impressive haul of more than 400 cans of cat food and 60 pounds of dry cat food. The event took place on Sunday, September 24, at Pet Supermarket on Tunnel Road.
This remarkable initiative, spearheaded by ACW, aimed not only to gather cat food but also toys and treats for our feline companions. The collected donations serve a noble purpose, stocking the ACW cat pantry, which subsequently provides assistance to local residents facing challenges in supporting their pets’ needs.
Katie King, a dedicated volunteer with ACW, shed light on the organization’s ongoing efforts. “We actually hold distribution events twice a month – on the second Tuesday of each month and the fourth Saturday of each month – at House of Black Cat Magic up on Haywood Road,” she explained. “We provide food to those who may require a little extra support in caring for their beloved pets.”
The generosity displayed by donors and volunteers during this successful food drive exemplifies the compassion and commitment of the Asheville community to ensure that every cat receives the care and sustenance it deserves. With the support of initiatives like these, Asheville Cat Weirdos continues to make a positive impact on the lives of cats and their loving owners in the region.
