A 13-year-old senior cat named Four is seeking a new home after being surrendered to a Monmouth County animal shelter in New Jersey. Adopted as a kitten, Four found himself back at the shelter after his owner passed away. The shelter shared, “Four was so confused to lose the only home and family he ever knew, and we’re hoping someone will open their heart to him.”
One glance at the photo they posted reveals the sadness and confusion in his eyes. Four is clearly depressed, struggling to adjust to his new, unfamiliar situation. It’s truly a heartbreaking image.
The photo of Four touched many, including @bri_tweea, who commented, “Thanks, now I’m crying at Applebee’s.” @jerseyshore_mermaid shared, “So sad that there was no family to take the cat in. Praying this sad boy finds a loving home.”
The Manmouth County SPCA is working diligently to find Four a new family. They shared more about his personality, noting, “Four will purr with affection when being pet, and sometimes gently let you know when he’s had enough. He’s still adjusting to his new surroundings but making progress each day. A quiet and relaxed home for Four to enjoy his golden years is all he wants (along with a comfy bed and yummy treats!). Four was always the only pet, so at this point, we think he’d prefer it to stay that way.”
@blovenaps left the most hopeful comment: “He’s in the right place… There is an angel out there who just can’t wait to give this boy a happy rest of his life, and they will come into the shelter very soon!”
