The City of Windsor is once again offering its Spay/Neuter Voucher Program for cats as part of its efforts to control the feral cat population and reduce the number of euthanized animals.
The $20,000 program, approved by the city council during the 2025 budget, will issue 260 vouchers to help sterilize cats. Each voucher is valued at $75 and will be available starting at 9 a.m. on March 19. Applicants will be responsible for covering any costs beyond the $75 voucher amount.
Veterinarians providing services for feral cats will also perform ear-tipping, which helps individuals involved in trapping cats to identify whether they have been sterilized.
Vouchers will only be available by calling 311 and must be redeemed at a participating veterinary clinic before May 5.
The program is specifically for low-income families with owned cats, and a declaration of income will be required. Each household is eligible for a maximum of two vouchers for owned cats.
