Cat lovers and enthusiasts will have the chance to experience an exceptional feline showcase at the Alabama Paws and Claws Cat Show, taking place at the Anniston City Meeting Center. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
The show will feature up to 72 different cat breeds, including well-known and exotic varieties such as Maine Coons, Bengals, Siberians, Persians, Siamese, Devon Rex, Ragdolls, Abyssinians, and Japanese Bobtails. Attendees will be able to watch more than 100 pedigreed and household pet cats compete for Best in Show in seven judging rings throughout the day.
This family-friendly event is perfect for cat lovers of all ages. Children will receive free cat-themed coloring books, and there will be opportunities for interactive experiences, such as meeting some of the cats and learning about various breeds. Vendors will be on hand, offering a selection of cat-related supplies and toys.
Tickets can be purchased at the door (cash only) with the following prices:
- Adults: $8
- Seniors (60+) & Children (5-12): $5
- Children 4 & under: Free
- Family 4-pack: $20
Attendees are encouraged to bring cash, as some vendors may not accept credit cards. While some cats will be available for petting, guests should ask for permission first and use hand sanitizer between interactions. Personal pets are not allowed at the event to protect the health and safety of the participating cats.
Photography is permitted, although flash photography may be restricted to prevent startling the animals. Although reputable breeders will be present, kittens will not be available for immediate adoption. However, attendees may have the opportunity to connect with breeders for future pet inquiries.
A food concession stand will be available on-site to provide refreshments for attendees.
To make the most of the experience, it’s recommended to arrive at least two hours before closing time to explore all the exhibits and judging rounds.
