Cats are often stereotyped as aloof and indifferent. Many critics claim that cats don’t truly experience love and may even turn on their owners if necessary. However, cat lovers know the truth—that cats are capable of deep affection and meaningful bonds.
On Friday, February 14th, one newly adopted rescue cat proved just how much love he had for his new mom with an incredible Valentine’s Day gift: a bouquet of face biscuits. He was so confident in his affection that he didn’t even need to make eye contact:
“I hope that @sophtyles0 and her new bestie, Mr. Boots, are happy forever. I also hope that she knows she will simply be turned into a pile of biscuits. He’s already hard at work!”
Mr. Boots had been surrendered by his previous owner for reasons that remain unknown. Since arriving in his new home, he has adapted well, though adjusting to life with his new animal siblings has been a bit of a challenge. Initially, Mr. Boots was an only child, and it’s clear from a charming throwback clip that he was very much appreciative of the one-on-one attention at first.
Having arrived at his new home last year, this heartwarming clip of Mr. Boots’ first night shows just how right the adoption decision was. Not only is he letting his mom hold him in a vulnerable, belly-up position—a posture that many cats resist—but he’s also making biscuits on her face, a clear sign of comfort and affection.
Since that video, Mr. Boots has truly come into his own. The family has since moved homes, and Mr. Boots now shares his life with two brothers. While he gets along well with his new siblings, his mom remains his number one priority. She will likely always be his favorite.
