Ever wish for a personal shopping assistant to guide you to the best deals? For one Malaysian shopper, that assistant came in the form of Oyen—a cheeky orange tabby cat with a knack for product placement.
In a now-viral TikTok video, Oyen is seen following a woman through a convenience store with the determination of a seasoned marketer. The clip, captioned “Taktik baru oyen” (Oyen’s new tactic), shows the feline tagging along like a loyal companion—until he halts dramatically at the cat food aisle.
Stepping confidently onto a Whiskas box, Oyen seems to declare, “This is what you need,” leaving viewers to wonder whether his antics are coincidence or pure marketing genius.
The shopper, Mai, shared the backstory with WeirdKaya: “I petted Oyen near the cashier counter before entering the store. He’s always there, and every time I visit, I see him in the same spot. After I petted him, he started following me, and I didn’t even realize it at first!”
Oyen’s mission didn’t end there. After stopping at the cat food section, he quickly returned to his perch near the cashier, seemingly unimpressed by Mai’s lack of attention. “Maybe he got fed up because I didn’t buy anything. Haha!” Mai joked.
