Premium Petfood Brands, a Dutch manufacturer, has announced its acquisition of the organic pet food brand Yarrah, following Yarrah’s recent bankruptcy. This acquisition marks an important step in Premium Petfood’s expansion into the organic pet food sector and further strengthens its portfolio, which already includes brands like Smølke and Rodi.
With the growing consumer demand for sustainable and organic pet food options, this acquisition allows Premium Petfood Brands to offer a broader range of responsible products to both consumers and retailers. The company emphasized that this move aligns with the increasing trend toward sustainability in the pet food market.
In a statement, Premium Petfood Brands remarked, “Over the years, Yarrah has built an excellent reputation for animal welfare and sustainability, values that perfectly align with our vision.”
Jan Jaap Roelevink, the owner of Premium Petfood, originally began producing organic pet food under the Yarrah brand in 1992 and sold the brand in 2012. Now, with the brand returning to his ownership, the company expressed that it feels like “Yarrah is coming home again.”
Looking ahead, Premium Petfood will focus on integrating Yarrah into its operations and further strengthening the brand’s legacy in organic pet food for dogs and cats.
