Taking in a senior pet requires a very special person. It’s even more challenging when the pet is sick and needs lots of love and care. Christina Ha recently adopted a senior cat with Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and has a message for the cat’s former owners. She holds no hard feelings towards them.
Despite the cat’s illness, Ha knew that the kitty still had so much love to give. She didn’t judge the cat’s former owners for surrendering him when he needed them most.
Ha believes that maybe the former owners fell in love with the cat long before people knew that FIV wasn’t a death sentence.
Perhaps they decided that those three letters didn’t define him. Ha understands that the former owners didn’t mean for this to happen to him.
They surrendered the cat because their health was declining, and they couldn’t take care of him anymore. Ha thanks them for making the hard choice to let someone else take over.
It’s clear that Ha loves the little guy. People online were touched by her sweet words. One person wrote, “He looks like a well-loved baby blanket. What a sweet boy.” Another said, “Absolutely sobbing, he deserves the whole world.
Senior cats are so very special.” A veterinarian even commented, “Thank you for being nonjudgmental and kind. He’s a lucky boy, and it’s clear how much you love him.” Others agreed that Ha’s video puts some much-needed perspective on a sad situation.
In summary, Ha’s message to the cat’s former owners is one of understanding and gratitude. She knows that they didn’t want to give up their beloved pet, but circumstances made it necessary. Ha is now giving the cat all the love and care he needs, and it’s clear that he’s in good hands.
