A harrowing incident unfolded in Queensland as a woman bravely intervened to rescue her cat from the clutches of a large python in their backyard, captured in chilling home camera footage.
The video captures the tranquil scene of the small cat lounging in the garden, unaware of the looming danger behind it—a sizable python stealthily approaching. The startled mother’s shrieks pierce the air as she cautiously moves towards the cat in an attempt to save it. Startled by the commotion, the cat dashes away, with the snake swiftly coiling around it.
Inside the house, the piercing screams of the woman and her daughter echo as both animals rush towards safety. Stuart McKenzie, a local Sunshine Coast snake catcher, later shared the gripping footage on his business’s social media page, cautioning viewers about its intensity.
“What you’re about to watch is one of the most insane videos you’ll ever see,” McKenzie warned. “It will send shivers down your spine.”
Fortunately, the woman and her daughter managed to remove the non-venomous python from the cat and promptly called in a snake catcher to relocate the serpent.
“Honestly, the mum and daughter were so brave and did a fantastic job,” McKenzie praised. “Dealing with a situation where a pet is caught by a carpet python is tough, but they handled it perfectly—safely removing the snake from the cat.”
